I work in the data driven research group at Point72. My work spans engineering and research and I'm currently based in New York City. Previously, I've worked at Vista Equity Partners and Edelweiss and I studied a combination of Statistics, Computer Science and Economics at UC Berkeley. In college, I was particularly interested in the confluence of economics and machine learning. Much of my development and formative experiences were in the wonderful city of Bangalore and I'm usually back about once a quarter.
As long as I can remember, I have been drawn to the decisions that people make with money. As a kid, I'd rummage through the newspaper to find financial terms I didn’t understand and pester my parents for explanations. In high school, I came first in the country in a financial examination and got to visit the Bombay Stock Exchange. In college, I built upon my interests by joining the largest student-run investing club on campus. Now, I am fortunate to be able to build investment research products in an environment that fosters my curiosity.
My foray into programming has also led to a keen admiration for tinkering and the endless possibilities it creates. I enjoy writing software and reading about the new business models it has pioneered. I’m particularly interested in ways in which it can help improve investing outcomes for everyday individuals.
Apart from work, I enjoy reading, playing the acoustic guitar, cooking and listening to indie music. In the past I've dreamt of becoming a cricketer, singer, barista and professor.
